Arise Collects & Distributes 10,000+ School Supplies to Local Florida Schools

(MIRAMAR, FL) September 1, 2016 -- Arise Virtual Solutions Inc., the award-winning leader in on-demand customer management technology, recently donated over 200 backpacks filled with 10,200 essential school supplies for underprivileged children. The backpacks and supplies will send students back to school prepared for a successful school year. The second annual Fill-A-Backpack drive was organized by the Arise Community Action Team, and supported four schools in South Florida; Sea Castle Elementary, Somerset Academy Central, Somerset Academy Miramar and Lauderdale Manors in Ft. Lauderdale. Arise employees donated money, supplies, or volunteered their time to fill backpacks and supply extra school supplies for classrooms in anticipation for the school year. The collected supplies were delivered to local nonprofit Harvest Drive.

“I’m extremely proud of the individuals on our teams and their committed efforts to education and community welfare,” said Karen Thompson, representative of The Community Action Team. “It demonstrates our employees give as much of themselves to the community as they do to the company – 100%.”

The Community Action Team has raised thousands of dollars for various local, national, and international charitable organizations, including but not been limited to the Ronald McDonald House, South Florida Food Bank, Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Dress for Success, Joe DiMaggio’s Children’s Hospital, ING Miami Marathon, Charlee Homes for Children, Covenant House, and many other local organizations.

In addition to the four local schools, nonprofit organizations in the South Florida area also benefitted from the event. The Susan B. Recovery Center, and Moving Forward Together partnered with the Miami Children’s Initiative, received over 125 full backpacks, and Harvest Drive received an additional cash donation.
