Nice Work for Bored Retirees

"In reading the February Kiplinger's Retirement Report, I found the story about WillowCSN, an innovative local company, and a woman employed by the Weston firm. In a phone call to Aida Spradlin, who has worked for WillowCSN for four years, she sounded so satisfied with this work that she wants to share the idea with everyone.

"She's contracted to several major Fortune 500 companies - an airline, an entertainment provider, an office supplier - however many hours she chooses at the hours that are convenient for her, a minimum of 10 hours a week.

"'I like to go to the beach in the afternoon if it's nice weather,' Spradlin says. 'So I usually sign up for phone duty in the morning until 1 p.m. That gives me the best of both worlds: I've earned 20 hours for the week's pay and still gotten to relax at the ocean with ample time to fix dinner.'"
